the little church at the fishing village of Tehuamixtle
It is Easter week in Mexico. Semana Santa. A very big holiday and special time for Mexican's. Nearby Mayto is the fishing village of Tehuamixtle, a great place to eat some seafood, play on the beach and swim in the bay. This is their little church, which they are very proud of.
Mayto beach is one of the beaches of the Costalegre in the state of Jalisco. One of the last undeveloped beach areas on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. It is hard to imagine, a beach without people. We were surprised when we first discovered it and the land nearby, we call Chachalaka.
Too much fun! on miles of beach
Welcome to our blog
This area 50 miles southwest of Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific Coast of Mexico is simply amazing. It is being discovered and now is the time to see it. Starting at El Tuito the drive through the mountains is refreshing on the way to the Mayto area and the coast. The nearby fishing village of Tehuamixtle is a must visit and just a short ten minute drive further south. From there heading south you can find endless beaches.
What is Chachalaka?
After a few years it is time to talk about this special place we call Chachalaka. We have created a unique place in paradise to share with a fortunate few. Clicking photo will take you to photos and information.
